Robyn Hilger

Executive Director

Robyn Hilger, a native Oklahoman and clarinetist, attended Oklahoma City University, graduating summa cum laude in 1999 with her bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education. She completed her master’s degree in School Administration in 2010 at the University of Central Oklahoma.

From 1999 until 2007, she served as the Fine Arts Team Leader and Band and Orchestra Director at Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School in Oklahoma City before joining the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools as Chief Programs Officer in 2007.

Hilger is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescence/Young Adult Music with specialization in Band. She was honored as the Oklahoma City Public Schools District Teacher of the Year in 2005 and Oklahoma Teacher of the Year 2006.

Michael Raiber

Director of Teacher Support

Dr. Michael Raiber is the Busey Chair of Music Education at Oklahoma City University. For the sixteen years previous to his current appointment in 2013, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. His public school teaching experience includes thirteen years at schools in Missouri and Oklahoma.

Mike is native Oklahoman. He attended high school in the Tulsa area and then earned both a BME and MME from the University of Tulsa. He completed his Ph.D. in music education at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Raiber is also an active researcher and author. He was the primary investigator on the collaborative research team for Oklahoma A+ Schools® (OAS). He is currently the primary researcher for All Aboard, an integrated math and music curriculum for young children. He has also co-authored a new textbook, released in 2014, titled The Journey from Music Student to Teacher. This book is intended for use in introduction to music education courses.

Dr. Raiber is the Past-President of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. He also serves as the President of the Southwest Division of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

Laura Moon

Site Coordinator

Laura Moon graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Relations and a minor in General Business.
As an undergraduate, Laura mentored junior high students via the GEAR UP program which is aimed at increasing students’ and families’ knowledge of post-secondary preparation and options. Prior to joining El Sistema Oklahoma in 2013, Laura worked as a Behavioral Rehabilitation Specialist at Family Development and Intervention Services in Oklahoma City. She was also a School Facilitator at Calm Waters in Putnam City, leading grief groups for students from prekindergarten through fifth grade.
