Abigail Pappas

Director of Development

Abigail Pappas joined the El Sistema Oklahoma team in January 2019 as a part-time instrumental teacher. She is from Oklahoma City and received her Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2016. Before joining ESO full time, Abigail was the Instrumental Music Director at an Oklahoma City charter school from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, Abigail was selected to be in the Disney College Program and worked at the Walt Disney World Resort in 2017, and interned for a film & marketing company in Dublin, Ireland in 2021.

Abigail works part-time at the Oklahoma A+ Schools Institute as the Project Integration Specialist, where she coordinates SAIL Box, a monthly, arts-integrated activity box for elementary-aged students. She is an OKA+ Fellow, where she helps develop arts-integrated workshops for Oklahoma teachers and facilitates educational workshops. Abigail was also selected to be a member of the Fred Rogers Institute's Educator's Neighborhood, a consortium of educators dedicated to advancing Fred Rogers' life and legacy through teaching.

Abigail is a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota OKC Alumni Fraternity and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME.) Abigail's El Sistema responsibilities include teaching Nueva clarinet and conducting the Nueva Band.
